FINAL REVIEW SHEET - 2013

During this past semester we have studied the New Testament of the Bible. We’ve explored how the Canon came into being, the history surrounding the writers of the Bible, and the theology that shaped their world views. We’ve examined the formation of the church and it’s relevance in the world today and discussed what difference Christian can make in modernity.

NOTE: you will not be allowed to use bibles or any other materials in the exam.
   
Section #1      10 minutes
Section one will require you to know all 27 books of the New Testament.

Section #2     50 minutes
This section will be true – false answers and multiple choice answers. 
Consist of 100 questions, many taken directly from the unit tests and quizzes.

Section #3     1 hour
This section will consist of five (5) essays / outline questions focusing on some of the issues we have discussed in class. Please prepare to know issues surrounding the following:

·       Pentecost in Acts 2. The events and their meanings to Christians
·       The story of Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10
·       The Birth story à particular to Luke’s gospel and Matthew’s gospel.
·       Information from the Inter-Testamental period pertaining to Alexander the Great and Rome. What contributions did they bring to the New Testament?
·       Know about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry from the gospel of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
·       Be able to explain what happened on the mount of transfiguration.
·       Explain the meaning and theology of grace found in TULIP
·       Explain the process of Salvation as we discussed in class
·       Acts 15 … tell the story about the Jerusalem Council. What was the controversy and what was decided?
·       The great Give Away from Romans chapter 1.
·       The understanding of Rapture from 1 &2 Thessalonians

Extra Credit - John the Revelator

Your assignment is to write a 3 to 4 page research paper on the Apostle John and his connection to the Gospel of John and Revelation. Did he write Revelation? If he did, where was he when he wrote it? Moreover, what events in his life led up to the writing? I want you to learn as much as you can about the Apostle John.

This is a research paper. Your sources must be documented along with any Scripture references as you formulate your argument. I am not interested in large pieces of research that are cut and pasted from the Internet. However, I would encourage you to use the Internet while doing your research.
