On Late Papers / Assignments

- All assignments must be turned in at the beginning of the class period
- Assignments will receive a penalty of -10 points per day late (or the equivalent of one letter grade). This includes Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays.
- Assignments submitted by 3:15 on the due date will still receive a penalty of -10 points
- If a student is aware that he or she will be absent on the day an assignment is due he or she must submit the assignment EARLY or absentee policy applies.
- Absentee Policy: If a student is absent on a due date, he or she must try to send the assignment to the front office via a parent or friend. Assignments can also be brought to my home by a parent or a friend if the student is sick. Exceptions can be made per individual based on a telephone call or conference with a parent.
- If a student does not take these measures to submit an assignment when absent, the penalty will be -10 points per day late (or letter grade equivalent) until he or she submits the assignment.
- Assignments will NOT be accepted via email unless there are extenuating circumstances. Any exceptions made in these circumstances will require a parent telephone call to confirm email attempt and my receipt of the document.
- NOTE: My advice to all students is to plan ahead and contact me when there are problems!!! Papers due dates are given far enough in advance. Technological difficulties do occur, and the procrastinator may suffer the consequences!
